High efficiency oil boilers

A new oil condensing boiler replaces old boiler
Woodcote, Oxfordshire.

A system designed to replace a conventional floor standing oil boiler for a 6 bedroom detached house built in circa 1900. The existing installation was replaced with a balance flued Grant Vortex condensing oil boiler.

The unvented hot water cylinders were sited adjacent to the boiler for an efficient and fast re-heat

time, a cold water accumulator vessel was also incorporated to counter any water pressure variations caused by the age and size of incoming main.

High output aluminium radiators were used throught the house along with a separate underfloor heating circuit was also installed for the 'Great Hall'. The system also incorporated a Danfoss boiler energy management system with a weather compensator to maximise the boilers efficiency in milder weather.

The existing steel oil tanks were removed, a new base and a 'bunded' plastic tank installed to comply with the latest regulations.
