Rainwater harvesting quite simply collects the rain which fall onto roofs, then stores it in a tank until required for use. When required, the water is then pumped to the point of use, reducing the reliance on mains-water. As you are keeping a certain volume of water at your home this helps to reduce flooding risks.

We recommend that you should only look at rainwater harvesting you are completely refurbishing your home, or if you are building a new home, due to the disturbance caused by fitting of new pipes and earth works needed to install the tank. At today's costs you are looking at a seven year pay back for a typical home.
